15 Photos to Inspire Your Trip Along South Africa's Garden Route
South Africa was the perfect introduction to Africa.
Sure, it can be either an expensive direct flight or a pain of connections to get to, but once you arrive in South Africa, all of the potential stress from traveling fades away. From the relaxed city of Cape Town (with its beaches, amazing food, and Table Mountain views), to the coastal highway taking you past quaint beach towns, to the private safari reserves of the Eastern Cape, South Africa’s Garden Route is one that will surprise even the most avid of travelers.
I decided on the Garden Route as a way to experience Africa with avoiding the malaria zones in the north (for health reasons). I was in South Africa for fifteen days and tried to pack in as many activities as I could to really get my money’s worth! South Africa taught mw that there is so much more to Africa than safaris, and while I did enjoy a safari while there, I was also able to go wine tasting and biking and sailing and horseback riding and sightseeing and… well, you get the idea.
